Welcome to the National Feast of the Lanterns 2010 Official website

Balado Park (formerly known as Kinross Airfield) has over 85 acres
of grass land and woodland, along with 8 acres of hard standing and sheltered areas; this along with surrounding grassland makes it the perfect environment to host our event as nobody should be more than 500 metres from the centre of the site.

Balado Park is only 1.5 miles from the M90 and the town of Kinross with the famous Loch Leven, and it’s Island Castle in which Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned in 1567. A ferry runs during the summer months for those that would like to explore the castle.

The theme for our NFOL is ‘Theatre’ so please think on how you can participate in the Mardis Gras and the lighting up of your units, or just take in the carnival atmosphere and spectacle. There will be a live show on the main stage starting at
approx 9.30pm.

We have planned lots of free entertainment with live shows, bouncy castles, live bands, disco and
don’t forget the ultimate silent disco!! There is even going to be an
ice rink.

Our local DA’s have organised Temporary Holiday Site’s, so why not plan
your holidays and explore Scotland.
